How to cut an audio file

  1. Choose a file from your device. It is opened locally, without uploading.
  2. Move the start and end sliders, or enter exact times in seconds. Play the selection to check the cut.
  3. Choose MP3 or WAV, export, then download your file. Your original stays unchanged.

Can I trim an MP3 and download MP3?

Yes. MP3 output is encoded at 192 kbps; WAV output uses 16-bit PCM. This tool decodes and re-encodes audio, so it is not a lossless MP3 cut. Changing format cannot restore detail absent from the source.

Which files work?

MP3 and WAV are the safest starting points. M4A, AAC, OGG and FLAC depend on your browser’s decoder. Unsupported or damaged files show an error. This version accepts mono or stereo audio up to 25 MB and 5 minutes.

What happens to my recording?

It stays in your browser’s memory. There are no uploads or accounts. Closing this page or changing language clears the session. Download before leaving.

Need to edit a whole recording?
